Sales Manager (London)

Key role

To work as Sales Manager for Spaceships UK based in London with a primary focus on growing sales within the UK & Europe

Principal relationships

  • Reporting directly to: Managing Director of Spaceships UK 
  • Principal Internal Relationships: Marking Manger, Operational and Sales crew within with the UK & NZ
  • External relationships: Customers, Suppliers, Agents Domestic & International

Immediate tasks

  • Effective management of traditional agents who currently sell Spaceships within the UK and abroad.
  • Effective management of current online agents 
  • Responsible for forming new partnerships with travel agents 
  • Developing new areas of business within the UK & Europe both online and face to face
  • Performance management of overall sales and establishment of new agents. 
  • Direction to help create suitable marketing material. 
  • Distribution of marketing material through relevant channels. 
  • Agent training, famils, targets, incentives and commission levels communicated. 
  • Set up structured and regular agent updates with monthly promos.
  • Development marketing campaign for 2017 
  • Monthly sales reporting for the MD.
  • Effective communication with the MD of Spaceships UK and the Marketing manager.

Main tasks

  • The Sales Manager will report to the Managing Director and will be responsible for providing strategic development for Spaceships UK in line with the direction by the Managing Director. 
  • The Sales Manager will be responsible for the day to day management of all the sale activities of Spaceships UK as detailed in the Position Description.
  • The Sales Manager will be responsible for the preparation, implementation and achievement of approved sales strategies, initiatives, targets and financial budgets. 
  • The Sales Manager will be responsible for reporting to and keeping the Managing Director up to date on progress, performance and activities of the business. 
  • The Sales Manager will maintain and develop external relationships – which are important to the future development and growth of the business. This includes managing key relationships with strategic partners, and building new relationships to grow sales channels globally.
  • A monthly report is required to the Managing Director. This report is to detail activity for the UK & Europe. The complete structure of the report is to be discussed with the MD and will evolve as the business does moving forward.

  • Understanding of distribution channels and tourism sectors within the UK
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident public speaker who can adapt to all levels
  • Strong knowledge of the UK as a travel destination
  • Proven ability to deliver business outcomes to plan
  • Ability to judge the needs of individuals and deliver accordingly
  • Innovative thinker who can look outside the square to get results
  • Ability to work evenings weekends and travel overseas when required.
  • Understanding of marketing, media and brand development
  • Team player, contributes individual skills for the group objectives, works well in a team.
  • Honesty, reliability and punctuality
  • Willingness to work weekends and nights when required including travel abroad
  • Display the ability to make sound decisions in keeping with company policies, to the best interests of the company and its customers
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Be able to diagnose problems or inefficiencies within the company
  • Display supervisory and leadership skills
  • A sound degree of computer literacy with MS programs especially MS Word and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Be highly organised including good forward planning skills.
  • Excellent ability to work under pressure.

Customer Service (London)

customer service role has just opened up in our London depot and is available for immediate start. This is an exciting opportunity to work in our expanding London office in a customer facing role. 

  • Location: Hayes, London
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • End Date: 12-month contact 
  • Salary: Competitive salary + benefits

Tasks and Responsibilities 

Customer Service 

  • Responsible for ensuring all vehicles dispatched meet the Spaceships standard of cleanliness 
  • Provide an efficient and effective face to face service to customers
  • Arranging services for customers and providing local travel advice 
  • Updating reservations system
  • Answer customer queries by phone and email
  • Promote and market the business 

Office Administration

  • Process customer payments and refunds 
  • Processing traffic fines/violations
  • Ordering office supplies
  • Filing and maintenance of reservation documents

Skills and attributes required

  • Experience in a customer facing role
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Absolute team player 
  • Experience in MS Office suite of programs 
  • A high level or organisation, self-motivation and a willingness to learn. 
  • Ability to use initiative, troubleshoot and problem solve. 
  • Proactive approach to work, responsiveness, diligent, ethical and honest.  

The available position is full time from Thursday - Monday.
