FREE CAMPING EUROPE
Free Camping, Wild Camping or Freedom camping in Europe is plentiful and generally easy to find. It doesn’t matter how you describe it depending on where you are from, but it all means the same. It is a place you can park you campervan for free and avoid paying any campsite fees.
We at Spaceships Campervans UK Europe find always recommend that if you can free camp (or Freedom camp, Wild camp) then take the opportunity as this can save you a lot of money on accommodation. That’s more money on other fun things like tourist attractions, few drinks or even a souvenir or two.

We always recommend that if you decide to park in these places you do so with respect and with common sense of your surroundings. This includes speaking with locals to make sure it is OK and with permission, taking you rubbish with you, be quiet and peaceful, be careful of the environment, only find designated toilet facilities. All of this will help keep the place free for other campers like you and encourage the site to keep being what we all love...FREE!
To locate some good Free Camping Europe or Freedom Camping Europe places then the first port of call is the tourist office in the town or chat to the locals for ideas and permission; some are friendly and may help you out or give you advice!
Supermarkets or Truck Stops are good places to park and while most are free if anything they will charge you a very small fee to stay. Truck stops in particular may have shower facilities and will have toilets so can be a handy place to stop.
While there is no specific reference for free camping, wild camping or freedom camping Europe a quick Google search will bring you in touch with other travellers with advice on where to go and ideas of good places to stay. In France for example they are called ‘Aires’.
Please bear in mind that places for free camping do change and where once it was OK may not be OK, once it was free now they charge so it is always best to speak with people in the area for permission and above all else please respect the Environment.
