2 Week Europe Travel by Campervan

The great European road trip! So many countries, so much history, changes of culture and language from one hour to the next. How can you possible cram it into 2 weeks you say? We have tried to give you a 2 week trip if you are strapped for time but want to see as much as possible...Check it out

 

Day 1:

Drive from London to Dover. Check out the stunning Dover castle before catching the ferry. Wave goodbye to the famous White Cliffs of Dover as you head across the English Channel to continental Europe. Once in France drive into Belgium and to the postcard perfect city of Bruges

Day 2:

The whole of Bruges is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is packed with centuries old churches and houses. Spend the morning taking in the sights (and the renowned Belgian chocolate!) before making the short drive to Amsterdam.

Day 3:

 

The only way to see Amsterdam is by bicycle. Hire one from your campsite and head into the city centre. Here you can visit the Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank’s house or the Heineken brewery. Enjoy some of the city’s famous (or infamous) nightlife in the Leidsplein Square before heading back to your campsite.

Day 4:

Enjoy a relaxing boat trip on the canals then visit the Bloemenmarkt – Amsterdam’s floating flower market

 

Day 5:

We’re off to Germany today. From Amsterdam travel past the windmills and tulip fields to the German border and then South to Wurzburg. Wurzburg marks the start of the Romantic Road which takes in some of Germany’s best scenery and historical monuments. This is the centre of the Franken wine growing region. Enjoy a glass or two in a restaurant on the market square (marktplatz).

 

Day 6:

Take a leisurely drive along the Romantic Road to Neuschwanstein on the Austrian border. You’ll Neuschwanstein Castle the castle long before you get to the town!  Stop off at some of the quaint German villages along the way

Day 7:

Europe’s largest mountain range, The Alps, makes for a stunning drive as we head into Austria and to the City of Innsbruck. 

Day 8:

From Innsbruck we go south and into Italy. Our next stop is Venice

Day 9:

Take the boat from the mainland over to Venice and spend the day exploring the waterways. The Basillica of San Marco and the Rialto Bridge are highlights

 

Day 10:

 

Head west towards the French Riviera. This is where the jetset come to play on their multi-million dollar yachts, but don’t worry - there are plenty of campsites here so you don’t need to pack your ball dress or tuxedo! Spend some time people watching in Monaco or on the beach in St Tropez.

Days 11-13:

Go north and explore the Provance, Rhone, Burgandy and Champagne wine regions. Stay over at vineyards along the way and get to know the locals and their fantastic produce

 

Day 14:

Back to Calais today and across the Channel to England
