7 day Southern England camper Itinerary

7 day Southern England driving holiday highlights which include the White Cliffs of Dover, Brighton, Isle of Wight and surfing mecca Cornish coast - make sure you have the swimming gear and sunnies!

Day One
Begin by heading South West through the Kent Region and onto Canterbury. Here we checkout the Canterbury Cathedral home to all sorts of violence and political shenanigans. From here continue south to Dover the main departure point for Europe either via the Chanel ferries at Dover of the Eurostar at Folkstone a little further along the coast.

While Vera Lynn might have sung about the white cliffs of Dover continue along the coast to tallest white cliffs in England at Beachy Head. The coast is full of maritime history and a little further North is where the Battle of Hastings took place. The appropriately named town of Battle is where the first major grudge match of the Second Millennium happened.
While overnight in Brighton, a good place to check out the latest nightlife and where in Summer Fat Boy Slim’s famous beach raves take place.

Day Two
A nautical theme continues with a visit to Portsmouth before catching the ferry to the Isle of Wight.

Day Three
Catch the ferry back to Southampton before heading further northwest through the New Forest to hippie central Stonehenge, Bath and Glastonbury –home of the Glastonbury music festival.

Days Four Five Six and Seven
Heading southwest takes you to the golden sandy beaches of Devon and Cornwall. A couple of days spent here are easy as everything is relatively close. Drive north along the Cornish coast for the last overnight stop at Ilfracombe or Exmoor National park before jumping on the M4 and expressing it back to London.
