Western Isles travel info
A bit about the region
The islands in the west coast of Scotland are many people's favourite part of Scotland. There is always more dramatic scenery around every corner.
The isles are made up of two groups - the Inner Hebredies and the Outer Hebredies. the most common destination is the Isle of Skye in the Inner Hebredies.
There is now a road bridge connection the island with the Scottish mainland so you can drive your campervan straight across.
There are some great campsites on Skye and if you are a keen hill walker then Skye has 20 peaks over 3,000 ft (known as Munros in Scotland).
Travel between the islands is easy with theCaledonian MacBrayne Ferries which operate 11 different routes between the islands. As well as individual tickets you can buy "Island Rover" tickets which allow you to travel on all services as many times as you like.
All ferries take vehicles and remember your Spaceship campervan is classed as a car so you pay less on the ferry.Western Isles
