For the third year in a row Spaceships Campervans will be an exhibitor at this years Telegraph Outdoor Adventure & Travel show. Held at the excel centre from the 13th-16th of February the Outdoor show is a great 4 days with lots on offer for those with an adventurous spirit.
Over the 4 days there will be activities for young and old including climbing, bushcraft and the worlds longest indoor zipline. There will also be plenty of speakers and presentations on offer to immerse yourself from all walks of life. Spaceships campervans will be there for the whole 4 days with our shiny white vehicle "Venus" and our friendly London team. If your at this years show make sure you come over and have a chat and see what deals we have on offer.
Keep an eye on our blog for regular daily updates from the show with pics to follow.
The 2014 Telegraph Outdoor & Adventure show came to an end on Sunday night with more than 40,000 people passing through the front gates over4 days. With this years show being home to 4 shows in one there was plenty on offer with many people having to spread it over two days so to take it all in.
Highlights of this year’s show included the world’s longest indoor zip line, indoor bicycle races/tricks and a fully functioning test track, indoor rock climbing, triathlon facilities and much much more. The hall was separated into separate regions holding the outdoor show, bike show, triathlon show and finally the dive show towards the southern end of the building.
Spaceships were part of the Adventure travel section with our Stand was located between the "Royal Air Force" and "Sail Greece", showing just how much variety was on offer. With bright blue carpet under her wheels our Spaceship “Venus” was all polished up and ready to tackle a big 4 days.
From Thursday through to Sunday the Spaceships team spoke to more than 500 customers each of whom loved our vehicle Venus. Our informative team was happy to run through the great features that our Swiss army knife campers provide leading to a number of direct bookings on the day. Customers ranged from cyclists looking to grab one for this years "Tour de France" to triathletes looking to use our vehicles for upcoming charity events. It was also a great day to network with other suppliers at the show with many of the organisers and exhibitors highlighting how practical our vehicles would be for them whilst travelling around the country for different shows each week. Our vehicles are really the perfect companion for all walks of life.
Our vehicles were not just a big hit with the older generation but also with the kids. With a comfy bed inside, DVD player and cool rear awning kids were free to jump up and down while mum and dad waited patiently. Plus the vehicle was called Venus which you dont see every day.
Within close proximity to our stand the London Bike and Triathlon show had lots on offer for those seeking a break from adventure travel. With hundreds of suppliers selling everything from reflective bike spray to personalised triathlon training workshops the lower end of the excel was buzzing with hundreds of fitness minded people. Highlights included racing simulators where customers could race against their mates to win themselves a new bicycle, indoor swimming pools for on the day training and advise and the most comprehensive display of bicycles for sale you will find anywhere in the UK.
A great option for those who needed to rest their sore feet was to sit down and take in one of the many presentations/talks on offer throughout the venue. With 3 separate stages there were talks on travel journalism & photography through to finding employment within the industry. Our favourite was a compelling presentation by BBC correspondent Frank Gardner on travel within Saudi Arabia.
There was also a variety of mascots doing the rounds representing various charities and organisation. Many of these proved to have certain resemblances to our team member Rory.
After four non stop action packed days it was sadly time to pack up our vehicle Venus and head back towards our London depot. What better way than to sign off on a great 4 days then by taking a trip on one of London's best kept secrets, the Emirates cable car.
